News: Farewell But Not Goodbye

ImageSo tomorrow is the big scary day, the holiday. I am sharing the terror and the anxiety with the eagerness and excitement, all of which switch dominance as the night progresses. But aside from that we have announcements. Since I will be travelling and having a right good time I fear there will be a break in the postings.

Yes, I hear you, there have been some breaks already, but holiday planning is time consuming, and life is time consuming and things have been time consuming and I apologise. But rest assured things will pick up upon my return.

What I am going to try and achieve (she says with so many intentions of trying to do), is that while I am gone I will probably only be able to get birthday posts up, because there are some great authors birthdays, but I can’t promise anything, but I do wanna try. I am taking books with me for the long flight so who knows, I may get a nice new review up, that’s something to look forward to, nice quiet reading time at last.

In my absence don’t forget that my giveaway is still running, the close date isn’t for another three weeks, so you can still get your entry in. There are two entry options if one doesn’t work.

Other than that I can’t really offer much else except behave yourselves while I am gone, read something spectacular, and I will see you in a more permanent and less sporadic manner in three weeks.

UK here I come! *squeal*

Update (aka I’m still alive and kicking)

NewsI have not disappeared, I promise. But it seems the reviewing, and the reading to be honest, has been pushed aside sadly. In 7 days I am going to the UK for three weeks (*silent freak out*) and then I think we will really have some proper intentional absence. But I am going to try and get some more reviews done before I go but I  just wanted to check in and say I hadn’t forgotten you all. I am still trying to share things on Facebook and Twitter because it is easier, but they too are a bit neglected. There can be a thing as too much free time I think.

Anyway I hope you are all wrapped up warm and reading in my absence though (of those of you in Summer you are outside reading wonderful things). I just finished The Heiresses by Alison Rushby which was awesome, and I am still fighting to finish Vice Versa. I want so bad to like it but it is just so hard! The next book is going to be a tough choice, I have a long plane trip ahead of me, I must chose wisely.

Have a great afternoon and I promise the review for The Heiresses should be up soon and hopefully more catch up posts as well *fingers crossed*. Oh and quick reminder, there is still four weeks to go on the giveaway (US & Aust) but just remember, you have to tweet the Goodreads link the Copper Girl, then let me know your Twitter name in the comments of the post so I can check, doing that gets you two entries automatically. There are more details on the post itself. Good luck if you’ve entered!

News!

NewsThis time we have news, exciting news too! I cannot believe I have not been going on and on and on about this to you all. I think since uni ended I have just been in a mindset of relaxing, and just my brain is shutting down and nothing is clicking. Anywho! On Wednesday I will be holding my very first giveaway *holds for adulation*.

I am participating in the blog tour for author Jennifer Allis Provost and her new book Copper Girl, the first book in her Copper Legacy series. I am rather excited and so I will be posting my review of Copper Girl up on the 12th and give you all a chance to enter to win exciting goodies. Unfortunately entries are only going to be via Twitter, well technically it is like a weird comment/Twitter mash because the widget won’t work (there is always one issue it seems), but I will explain all the details on Wednesday.

On her blog Jennifer has given people a sneak preview of her novel, you can read Chapter One here and you can find more about Jennifer on her website and her blog. I hope to see you all on Wednesday!

News!…News?

NewsHey guys!

This isn’t news exactly but we will class it as such anyway. Well it is technically…either way.

So this is the new site, as you can see it is very much like the old one which is excellent; also hello to any newcomers who have come straight here and not from my post on the previous site. I will not do a big thing about the move or more venting, I feel just moving on past it and getting settled back into a routine is best. Uni has finished for three whole months so I am full of free time to read and finally catch up on reviews, so apologies for delays there.

But also heads up, in July I am going to the UK for a few weeks *squeal* so my chances of posting for the first three weeks may be slim, but that is not to say I will not try my hardest to keep it going.

In the chaos of the blogs and the exams and the sleep deprivation I missed a couple birthday posts which is a shame. One I really wanted to highlight was John Connolly, the author behind the Charlie Parker series and the awesome beyond awesome novel ‘The Book of Lost Things’.  My review for that is here if you haven’t read it, and I had grand plans to read a Charlie Parker novel by his birthday and get the birthday post up but again, uni. So instead I will just put it out in the world that I will be reading that and reviewing that soon I hope, my library isn’t the best at having popular books so we will see how we go.

The other birthday we missed was Thomas Hardy who wrote Tess of the D’Urbervilles. That was a great book I read a few years ago for uni, it was certainly unexpected. I will try and get my review for that up at some point as well; I think you should all read that. Though if we start discussing all the books I’ve read I think you should read we’d be here for days, and who has days with all this free time around that I need to use to catch up on all the things I have been postponing for three months?

But anyway, thank you for following me here, thank you for finding me here for all the newbies, and I hope you find some great books and book related things. Despite my free time I will be maintaining my Monday, Wednesday, Friday system (exceptions again are birthday posts) but they may not always be reviews.

Also as usual there are more book and reading related things on the Facebook and Twitter pages that don’t make it to the blog, those links have not changed. I will leave you all now as I have a bit of unpacking to do around the place and putting everything in its rightful place takes time.

Have a great afternoon and read something spectacular.

News!

Oh this has been a super crazy week, we’ve had author birthdays and reviews and uni work and no sleep and house sitting and chaos, it’s all a bit too much really. I am hoping it starts calming down soon. I remembered the other night as I realised I was on a review day (where does the time go? They blur all into one these days) that I used to do this once a day, back when there was time – ah time, we had so much fun. But we are powering through. I know if I start slacking off this may get abandoned for that education thing and I don’t want that to happen, this is a lot of fun, despite the fact it is somewhat neglected in the time and love aspects. But enough complaining we have some newsish things.

The super secret only Amy can know is coming in May, I am going to put up on May 4th, Star Wars day. It seems fitting in my mind, though it is probably not a strong connection exactly but I don’t care. So that is going to be amazing! So excited. I am also working on getting up my second Liebster Nomination up so you’ll have another list of facts about me and a bunch more blogs you should check out. Also I have been trying to get a Top 10 or  Theme Thursday up and going, I have had my little Theme picture made for months it just is not finding a spot in the schedule but I am trying so keep watching!

More importantly I have just realised something! Gee whiz, we are not good at these important milestones! I blame Shakespeare, I really do. So somehow it has already been another month, how does that even happen! But on the 23rd, which I am realising is the most under appreciated and remembered day (except for Shakespeare, see all his fault), but on the 23rd we hit out three month anniversary! Yay! It is speeding up the more months we accumulate, it is rather terrifying. In that three month period I have gotten a lot of visitors so thank you guys a lot. I do enjoy popping over to my stats and seeing the numbers go up and see the spread of colour on my visitor location map as my world domination comes to fruition. Did I say world domination? I meant a simple collection of visitors from every country and continent *innocent smile*. But thank you guys a lot. Read, share and repeat and all that jazz.

So as I say it is hectic right now, I cannot wait for June when all the crazy stops for a while and I can focus on reading full time instead of just minutes here and there. It is taking a lot longer to get through books this way, it is rather frustrating, especially when they are so enthralling! I am hoping to have a review up soon of Kerry Letheby’s book Mine to Avenge, if you haven’t checked out her guest post or tour you should do that. There is also a giveaway (ends May 3rd) of her book over with Jess at The Never Ending Bookshelf.

But enough on me, ok one more, usual reminder for the Twitter/Facebook extra content and fun times option and all the buttons to click to get those and I hope to see you all for month four. Stay tuned for super exciting (to me and maybe to you) things in May, more birthday posts, more reviews, and I hope you all have a wonderful day and read something spectacular.
